Hopefully by now you have had a chance to visit Palm Coast’s new facility, the Southern Recreation Center. The SRC is a state-of-the-art facility designed to cater to the community’s diverse recreational needs. Located at 1290 Belle Terre Parkway, the SRC offers a blend of sports, dining, and community spaces, making it a central hub for both residents and visitors. We covered these in last week’s article. But we want to make it clear that while you are free to enjoy yourself, you are not free to do whatever you want. To keep this facility fun for all, all must abide by some rules and regulations. In this week’s article we will cover some.

The Southern Recreation Center boasts an impressive range of features, including:
- 15 Tennis Courts for players of all skill levels.
- 12 Pickleball Courts designed for both casual and competitive play.
- Recreational Programming offering lessons, clinics, and organized play.

With its modern facilities and welcoming environment, this center is set to become the go-to destination for Palm Coast’s active community.
Rules & Regulations for a Safe and Enjoyable Experience
To ensure all visitors can enjoy a safe and friendly experience, the Southern Recreation Center has established clear guidelines for court use, reservations, and general conduct.
Check-In & Court Reservations
- All players must check in at the welcome desk before heading to the courts.
- Court fees must be paid in advance before play begins.
- Tennis courts can be reserved in 1.5-hour increments starting at 8:00 AM.
- Pickleball courts currently operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Who Can Reserve Courts?
- Pass Holders: Can reserve a court 7 days in advance.
- General Public: Can reserve a court 3 days in advance.
- Punch Card Holders: Can also reserve courts 3 days in advance and enjoy additional perks such as:
- Early court reservations (up to 3 days in advance).
- Online booking for added flexibility.
- Free outdoor court time at no extra charge.
Tennis & Pickleball Instruction
Only certified City of Palm Coast instructors are authorized to provide lessons, clinics, and private coaching sessions at the facility.
Court Etiquette & Behavior
To maintain a positive playing environment, all players must follow proper court etiquette, including:
✅ Waiting until the previous match is finished before entering the court.
✅ Returning stray balls to their rightful courts.
✅ Keeping noise levels respectful and avoiding disruptive behavior.
✅ Cleaning up after play and removing personal belongings.
Prohibited Behavior
🚫 Hitting balls against fences, windscreens, or fixtures.
🚫 Using profanity, throwing equipment, or causing disturbances.
🚫 Bringing pets onto the courts or inside the facility.
🚫 Smoking, drinking alcohol, or possessing controlled substances on-site.
Facility Policies & Closures
You should be aware that the SRC reserves the right to close courts or cancel reservations due to inclement weather, scheduled maintenance, special events or tournaments, or player safety concerns.
Personal Property & Disputes
The City of Palm Coast and the Southern Recreation Center are not responsible for lost or damaged personal belongings. Additionally, all disputes will be handled by facility staff, whose decisions will be final.
Rules Regulate Fun For All
You can see the rules at the SRC aren’t made to be broken. They are reasonable and if followed will result in all being able to continue to have a great time. So we urge you to go on down and enjoy the facility. Play, eat and have the time of your life knowing the SRC will take care of you!
